A new digital tool to improve access at Skerryvore Practice.
-
We’ve recently begun trialling a new digital tool called Accurx.
Accurx is a secure, NHS Scotland approved provider which is used by 98% of GP Practices in England and has only recently become available for use in Scotland. We’re delighted to be an early adopter of Accurx in Scotland and hope that during an upcoming three month trial, patients and our team here will see and experience many benefits.
Our team will be using it to:
Send fit notes to you electronically.
Contact you with brief messages and results.
Send a booking link to you if we want you to book a blood test and certain other types of appointment, so you can easily book the appointment online.
Ask you for certain information they might need, which you can then return to us by text message – for example they may ask you to send us a blood pressure reading so they can prescribe your medication, or to send us a photo of a rash.
Messages will come from ‘Skerryvore’ and have ‘Skerryvore Practice’ marked at the bottom. Patients don’t need to set up any account – they simply need to confirm their date of birth to access their fit note, use the booking link sent, or reply with the information our team have asked for.
If you have reason to believe that we do not hold your most up to date mobile number then please contact reception to update this.
Here are some example of how the messages will look:
We hope you enjoy using Accurx. It’s part of our work to improve access at the Practice for patients; within the financial resources we have available to us.
